The Premier Interactive Game for the NFL Draft

FAQs

What is First Round Exchange?

First Round Exchange (FRX) is an interactive game experience related to professional sports entry drafts, where fans apply knowledge and skill to compete with friends and other fans. Players create virtual portfolios of draft-eligible athlete “stocks” by trading with 12,000 ($12 million) in fantasy salary-cap dollars. Athlete stocks trade on anticipated salary-cap values correlating with actual draft order of the professional sports draft.

How do I play?

There are three ways to play the FRX-Football Play the Draft® game:

  1. As an individual competing on the Mel Kiper, Jr. Global Exchange;
  2. In a private league with your friends – bring your existing fantasy football league to FRX or start a new league with friends and work colleagues; and
  3. In a private promotional league, called a Draft Party.

Once you sign up and create a new account, 12,000 ($12 million in fantasy salary-cap dollars) will be available for trading in your personal team/fund. At that point, it’s up to you how you want to create pseudo-financial value in your fund by optimizing trades—buy low and sell high.

  • If you want to buy athlete stocks projected to be selected high in the first round… go for it!
  • If you want to identify the hidden values of underappreciated athletes who might just be selected in the second or third rounds… go for it!
  • A portfolio of athlete stocks from only one position, one school, or one conference… go for it!

The possibilities are fun to consider and limitless. When the fantasy draft stocks are liquidated during the actual draft, the value of your fund will change—largest ending fund value wins!

Can I play the game for free?

Yes, if you know where to look. Several of the “NFL Draft Analysts” featured on PlayTheDraft.com will be hosting a “Draft Party” and inviting their readers to play for free on a first come, first served basis. Also, we are exploring a number of promotional game opportunities—stay tuned!

Is There a Limit To The Number of Teams/Funds I Can Create?

No. If you are super avid fan, you may consider creating multiple teams/funds to experiment with different game strategies. You might be invited to play in multiple private leagues, asked to join a Draft Party, or want to increase your chances of performing well in the Mel Kiper Jr. Global Exchange by entering multiple funds. Your “Overview” page will show all of the teams/funds you are currently managing along with their current values and rankings.

I’m a League Commissioner; Can I Register My Existing League to Play FRX-Football?

Absolutely. We encourage you to “keep your league together” to compete in the Play the Draft® game!

Why Are There No Cash Prizes?

FRX-Football is focused on providing a unique and memorable interactive game experience for avid sports fans. The company’s belief is that cash prizes do not enhance the entertainment value of a fantasy game experience or attract players within our target market. Avid sports fans will play FRX-Football because they are passionate about their sport, they have wisdom to share, and they enjoy competing with friends and other fans. FRX-Football also provides a platform for avid fans to demonstrate their insights into the Draft and measure their knowledge by the final value of their funds.

Will First Round Exchange Have Games for Sports Other than Football?

Yes. First Round Exchange plans to eventually launch a Play the Draft® game for basketball (men’s and women’s), baseball and hockey, so avid fans of major North American sports can enjoy this unique experience and different games throughout the year.

Is FRX-Football a Fantasy Game or Is It Online Gambling?

First Round Exchange is a fantasy sports game, and falls within the fantasy sports exemption with online gaming laws. It is most certainly NOT online gambling. There are no cash prizes offered to winners, and there is no way to have a real financial gain or loss by trading fantasy athlete stocks within First Round Exchange. All transactions are fantasy transactions. The $12,000 in fantasy salary-cap dollars deposited into each player’s account at sign-up is worth exactly 12,000 in fantasy dollars and $0 in real currency. The outcomes of our online game experiences relate to the actual performance of multiple athletes in pre-draft workouts, interviews with prospective employers, personnel decisions by the professional sports teams and ultimately the actual placement of the athletes in the Draft.

How Can I Provide Feedback to Enhance The Game Experience?

First Round Exchange encourages feedback in order to improve on the alpha product launch of these draft-based stock market games. Please tell us what you like or don’t like about First Round Exchange, and we’ll make necessary modifications for future game versions. Please send your comments or suggestions to firstroundx@firstroundx.com, or contact us.

Must I Have a Facebook Account to Play FRX-Football?

No. But we understand much of the online community now lives on Facebook, so you can spread the word about FRX-Football through Facebook and visit our Facebook Page.
